Indianapolis — The Perry Township Education Foundation (PTEF) has hired Amelia Miller, who has experience and expertise in fundraising and youth development, as its new executive director. She began working July 21.

Miller previously served as a program coordinator for the Marion County Commission on Youth, leadership specialist for Key Club International, PTEF board president Chuck Stumpf said.

“In addition to her expertise in the nonprofit sector, Amelia is a Perry Township resident and a staunch advocate for public education. I’m confident she will support the district well,” Stumpf said.

PTEF supports innovative and creative classroom projects for teachers in Perry Township including Perry Meridian, Southport, and the new township kindergarten centers. With strategic guidance and direction from the PTEF board of directors, Miller will act as manager and director of operations. She will oversee all PTEF activities, including fundraising, events, grants, communications, and volunteer coordination. She will also supervise PTEF’s new part-time development associate.

Miller replaces Hannah Dale, who is leaving the foundation this July after working there for over 2 years. The executive director search was conducted by a search committee that was appointed by the PTEF board of directors.

Miller is looking forward to increased involvement in the district.

“I am thrilled to support Perry Township teachers, students, and families in my new role. I look forward to working with PTEF’s board and volunteers to support innovation and creativity in schools,” Miller said.
